Twitter has restored my account after 4 months!
If you know of others who've been banned, please share my experience with them.
I’ve been watching the Elon Musk bid for Twitter shares with great interest, since I was hoping that it might eventually result in the restoration of my Twitter account.
I was banned from Twitter (“permanently”, they told me) after a very short tweet I sent out on March 14, which included the word “ivermectin” in it. That was my third ban—the others had been temporary, but this time they told me I could not appeal and it was a permanent decision. I was also forbidden from opening a new account and if they found out that I had done so, it would be immediately deleted. Yet I could still log in through the app on my phone and see old tweets, so I knew that my account had not been completely erased.
The Elon Musk bid has now been withdrawn, I read recently, and litigation will ensue. Musk made the decision after finding that Twitter couldn’t verify the percentage of genuine human accounts versus robot accounts.
I decided to renew my appeal for restoration of my account. I figured that a lot of personnel within Twitter had left since March, and it was probably the worst (i.e. “most woke”) ones that were gone. As well, I thought perhaps Twitter might have adopted a new policy encouraging the creation of real accounts to offset the number of robot accounts it had. So I clicked through to the appeal process page and said I didn’t understand why the account had even been suspended in the first place.
Within a short time, my appeal was granted. Here’s a screen shot showing that my account is now “unsuspended”.
If you don’t already follow me on Twitter, please do so now. I tweet as @kselick. My 1,549 followers from March were all still there when I went back on.
Please share this with any other people you know who’ve been banned and would like to get their accounts back.
I did that successfully once, coming back from a so-called permanent ban. But then they banned me again. (Misinfo re covid-19, the catch-all for anyone posting about injection issues.) I tried again, but no luck. After reading your story, perhaps I'll try again. Thanks for posting. I'll let you know how it goes.
